OLOLSTJ Youth Ministry
Lock-In: Saturday, November 2nd at 6:00 pm
Let-Out: Sunday, November 3rd at 6:00 pm
Held at OLOL Hall
All 7 & 8 graders are invited and encouraged to attend a “Hunger Lock-In” on November 2nd & 3rd. This event will take place in the Our Lady of Lourdes Hall. We must have at least 20 teens to put this event on.
This two-day event will include Mass, movie clips, activities, speakers and projects that will open up their minds and hearts to the needs of the less fortunate, both in the world and in their very own backyard. They will also be challenged to come up with ways to help serve those who are in need. In other words…Living Their Faith!
This event will also make them feel hungry, as they will not have anything to eat except for bread and water in this time period. Those who may need extra food because of medical reasons may bring it to the Lock-In. Please inform Mrs. Koewacich or Mrs. Masters of any conditions.
This event will also make them feel uncomfortable, as they will be sleeping on the hard, cold floor inside the church building. They will be asked to bring a pillow and only 2 blankets; one to sleep on and one to cover themselves. The boys and girls will be on opposite sides of the room with adult (compliant) supervision awake all night. The deadline to register will be Thursday, October 31st.
Students attending this Lock-In will not be expected to attend CCD class on Sunday, November 3rd. Students not attending will be expected to attend class. CONFIRMATION HOURS: 3
